Another round of The Liebster Award and the Get To Know Me Tag

Hello, earthlings! I have been re nominated TWICE for the Liebster Award, which is totally awesome!! I am loving all these questions, they are so much fun to answer. I have also nominated for the Get To Know Me tag, which sounds super fun to do. Since this is going to be another awfully long post, let's get this show on the road!

First up, I'm going to do the Liebster award. I was nominated by It's Ella and Lou Loves. Thank you, ladies!! I'm going to do Ella's questions first.

Who is your role model and why?
I don't really have a role model; rather I have people who influence me. As a blogger, it's all the bloggers around me who influence me. As a songwriter, I'm heavily influenced by artists such as Lorde, Sia, KISS, AC/DC and David Bowie. As a novelist I'm influenced by writers such as Markus Zusak, Craig Silvey and many more. I don't see it as having a role model; I see it as being influenced by anyone and everyone around you.
What do you want to do when you're older?
I really, really, REALLY want to be an author. It is the biggest dream I've ever harboured and I plan to make it true one day. I am currently working on a novel, which I plan to post about at some point. I know that this is what I want to do, and I'm working extraordinarily hard toward achieving it.
Favourite fashion trend?
Retro vintage. The boots, the hairstyles, the t shirts... I just all round love it. SOOOO much. It looks seriously cool. I also love chic looks such as knee length skirts, print dresses, tights, that kinda thing.
What's the weirdest thing you've ever done?
I don't know if it really counts, but once me and my friends were playing truth or dare. My brother walked into the room right as I dared my friend to pick someone else's nose and eat it. I never expected her to follow through with it, but my brother turned around, picked her nose and ate it!! It was seriously gross.
What annoys you the most?
Just annoying people in general, really.
Favourite cadbury chocolate type?
Pineapple. It's a pretty unheard of flavour in Australia and I have no idea if it's popular or not in other countries, but god it's good. I love that stuff so much.
Favourite singer/band?
You can refer ro my last post for that one!
Favourite TV show?
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and The Weekly with Charlie Pickering. OMG THESE SHOWS ARE SO FUNNY EVERYONE IN THE GODDAMN UNIVERSE NEEDS TO SEE THEM!
Favourite film?
Hmmmmmmmm. I've never really had a favourite film as I'm much more partial to books than tv, but I love Mulan and Alice in Wonderland and generally any early Disney film, although the latest one's are still good.
Celebrity crush?
I'm going to sound completely and utterly ridiculous here... But OMG Theo James is soooo ripped!!! He's so good looking, probably the only time that I've had a crush on a celebrity. Well, not really a crush but more of a OMG he's so hot moment.
Any hobbies? Tell us about them!
Well, I obviously love blogging, mainly because it's so much fun. I also love reading, writing, soccer, diving and binge watching The Graham Norton Show on Netflix. Happy days...

And now to Lou's questions!
What could you not live without?
Books! Or words of any kind, really. Books have shaped my entire life, and so have words. I don't think I'd be able to survive without the two, mainly because I love them so much!
What inspired you to start blogging?
My teacher had shown us how to set up blogs using our school email account, and I had so much fun fiddling around with that blog and posting on it. Then came the school holidays and inevitable boredom, so I decided to create another blog just for the fun of it! My original blog was called Wonderings, Questions, Poetry, however I did some pretty awful posts so in the end I deleted it.
What is your favourite food?
I LOVE INDIAN. LITERALLY I COULD EAT IT ALL DAY. But I'm also a massive fan of dumplings, and I love potato and corn smothered in butter and salt.
Favourite Pintrest account?
Well, I might have an overly large  very small addiction to Pintrest, but I never notice the Pinners. Although I do like Marti's account; the food that she pin's is drool worthy!
Favourite blogger?
Oh man, do I have a lot! I love AcquaMartiRosieBeth and sooooooo many more, but if I went on we'd be here all day!
Any talents?
I'm okayish at writing, I'm getting better at art and I'm brilliant at lying in bed and watching Netflix. Believe me, kids, it's a new form of art.
Best thing about blogging?
ALL THE OTHER BLOGGERS! I love chatting to bloggers and talking with them; it's so nice to talk to so many people! I used to keep a diary when I was younger, however I love blogging a lot more mainly because it actually has a point to it. People read it, and it's not something that I stash in my room so that no one else will read it.
Favourite social media?
As you can probably tell, I'm addicted to Pintrest. I love it so much. Literally, I spend hours on there just slowly trawling through my feed, looking at every post... Yeah, I'm a Pintrest addict.
Favourite type of post to write?
Well, all my posts are really random, so I'm not really sure! I am a lifestyle blogger, which doesn't really add anything.. But my favourite post that I've ever written is Why I'm Sick Of Slut Shaming. I'm actually pretty proud of that post.
Favourite colour?
CRIMSON RED. I love it sososososo much, it looks amazing and I can't wait until I'm old enough to wear red lipstick.
If you could collab with anyone who would you collab with?
Probably Dan and Phil, even though they're YouTubers. Their videos are so hilarious, my sides hurt after watching them!

And now for the Get To Know Me tag!
What is your favourite way to style your hair?
I love to put it in two's - so two plaits, two ponytails, two little buns on the side of my head. It looks really nice and I love how quirky it is. However at school I'm forced to keep it in a boring old ponytail, so annoying.
What is one movie you could re watch over and over again?
Hmm. Probably Amelie - I love that movie so much, it's amazingly good. Either that or Saving Mr Banks. Saving Mr Banks is one of my all time favourite films and I'm a puddle of tears by the end of it.
Do you have any pets?
Nope. I've been begging my mum for years now but she never relents. It's quite irritating as I'd really love a pug, they look so cute.
What's on your nails right now?
I never wear nail polish because a) I tend to pick at it when I'm nervous so it looks all horrible and b) we're banned from wearing makeup at school. I don't really care.
What's your favourite thing about blogging?
You can refer to the above questions for that one.
Bold eyes or bold lips?
Bold lips!! They look absolutely amazing, they're such a statement and I love the look of them. Although I do quite a nice cat eye with eyeliner.
If you could blog about one brands product, which brand would it be?
LUSHLUSHLUSHLUSHLUSHLUSHLUSH!
Most used/loved product?
Probably my mum's mascara - It's one of my favourite parts of makeup and my mum has a really nice mascara.
Would you rather have flawless skin and not be able to wear any makeup or never wear skin makeup again but still be allowed to use makeup?
Eh, flawless skin, I wouldn't have to bother with makeup again!!
What is your most hated thing about wearing makeup?
Having to remove it every evening. It's pretty annoying, which accounts for why I don't really wear it.

I tag:
Rosie
Acqua
and Beth

Have fun! Also I'd like to announce that I'm cancelling the Q & A; Sorry to everyone! It's just that I've been answering so many questions lately, I figure there's no point. Anyways.
See you, earthlings! I'm back to planet Mars!

The Liebster Tag (Redo)

Hey! I have been re nominated for the Liebster Tag by both Nicky and Acqua, so I figured that I should do it at some point. I loved doing this the first time round - it was so much fun! - so I'm super excited to do this! Thanks to both girls for nominating me.

Here are the rules:

  • Creating a post thanking the person who nominated you
  •  Leaving  a link to their blog.
  • Include a version of the Liebster sticker.
  • Nominate ten blogs you feel deserve the award and leave a link to their blog.
  • Answer the ten questions that are given and give ten more.
  • Make a copy of the rules in your post.
Since I got nominated by Nicky before Acqua, I'm going to answer her questions first.
What's one strange skill you want to master?
Does watching Brooklyn 99 and Graham Norton re runs all weekend count? Probably not! If I'm being honest I don't have one. Maybe playing the drums, although that's not really strange..
Have you done your homework yet? (hehe)
Yes, I have!! Funnily enough, I love doing my homework and find it really cool (if you haven't already guessed I'm a total nerd) but maths is another story altogether..
It's the zombie apocalypse and you only have food as a weapon, what would you use?
I'd go down to the local bakery and ask for all the stale bread rolls!!
Your phone is on 1% and the only way to recharge it is to dance as weirdly as you can, what song would you use?
Either Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde or Deuce by KISS. I can never and will never be able to pick which is my favourite. Or Sax by Fleur East - I LOVE THAT SONG SO MUCH!! AHH I can't choose!
You're about to loose your beloved bed forever and the only way you can save it is to trip on soap, what brand of soap would you trip on?
LUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's your sassiest comeback? (no swearing)
I don't do comebacks at all... My method is to give them the finger and walk away!
The world can only be one colour, ugly green or hideous pink?
Ugly green!! I hate pink SO much it's not funny... Yeah, green all the way!
You get a Starbucks cup, what drink would you fill it with?
Coke. I don't even really like the stuff, but I drink it mainly to annoy my mum who hates me drinking it. #Rebelwithoutacause
It's your last day on earth, what embarrassing thing would you do?
Tell my old music teacher how much I hate him!!!
You're being chased by cops, what disguise would you use?
Massive sunglasses and floppy sunhat!
If you could be a unicorn for one day, what would you do?
Meet my fellow unicorns! Whooooo!

That's that done with, Nicky you sure know how to pose hard questions! Here are Acqua's:

What is your favourite book and why?
DO NOT ASK ME THAT QUESTION!!! I bluff and sigh and avoid it because I will NEVER choose. But I love Jasper Jones, The Wrong Boy, Throne of Glass and Only Ever Yours. They are all brilliant, I highly recommend!!
Do you have a strange hobby?
Not really! Does op shopping count? Because if it does, well...
What TV shows do you recall watching as a kid?
Man, don't ask me to remember!! Ummm I remember loving Outnumbered, Masterchef and yeah, that's all I remember! Although apparently I was ADDICTED to In The Night Garden.
What would you like to be when you're older?
An author!!!!! Or a human rights lawyer!!!
If you could re live anything in your life, what would it be?
The moment when I first pressed 'create' for my blog!! By far the best moment of my life.
If you could pick a place and time to live in during history, when would you live?
Egyptian history! I love it, the tales about all of the pyramids are fascinating.
What scares you the most?
Moving cars! Unless I'm actually in one, I don't like cars in general. The noise, the speed, the track marks... Yeah, no thanks. I'm even worse with trucks!
What did you wish you knew when you were younger?
That the internet is not a big, bad place like teachers crack it out to be. Admittedly, you do need to use it sensibly and it can be used against people quite horribly, but the teachers made it out as if it was so bad we should never use it in our lives. This is not the case at all, for once I excuse you for ignoring your teacher!
What is your favourite dessert?
MERINGUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who is your favourite singer/band?
I will never pick just one! But I love KISS, AC/DC, Fleur East, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wright, Sia, Lorde, David Bowie and a tonne more.
Tell us a random fact about yourself!!!
My favourite artist is Ghostpatrol!!! He's a brilliant Australian artist, check out his work!!

And I'm done! Since I've already done this and I've already tagged people, I'm going to cheat and skip over nominating people! I don't even need to do that Q & A next week now! But I hope you enjoyed! See you guys xx

Eight Months On...

Hello, everyone! The Ramblings Of Moi has officially turned eight months, and I'm SUPER excited! This marks eight months since I entered an unknown territory, and I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. Thinking back about how hesitant I was to press 'create', I can't even believe how much this experience has changed my life. I can honestly say that now. I've met so many people through this and I can't believe how many friendships I have because of blogging. If anything, I've become a better person because of this.

So, mainly, this is a massive thank you. I can't believe how happy I am that I chose to blog. Here are a list of people that I want to acknowledge and thank truly, from the bottom of my heart:

Rosie
Beth May
Nicky Strong
Hannah Rae
Marti Stelling
Autumn Girl
Simply Miriam
Acqua
Emily Maltby
Alice

I think I am missing a few people (tell me if I did!) however I hope you know just how much I appreciate you all. Every comment, every follow, every page view, every mention means so much to me. I wouldn't trade this for the world - I hope you guys know just how much I love you. If I was able to, I'd give you all the biggest hug ever. You guys are super awesome :-)

The Australiana Tag!!

Hello, everyone! So I know that there's a lot of tags floating around the internet, and I know personally that they are so much fun to do. However, today I'm going to create my own tag! I'm Australian, as you know, and I have a few blogger friends who are Australian as well. So I've created the Australiana tag! However, because I know so few Australian bloggers, I've decided that they can have fun with this as well. They will first do my tag, and then they can come up with their own tag. Let's see how far this can go!

The Rules:

  1. You must announce your win with a post, and tag me in it.
  2. You must answer all questions provided, and make the answers as funny as possible!
  3. You must put the photo above in the post.
  4. This is where the fun part comes in. You must make your own tag, and tag another reader to then answer your questions and create their own tag! I don't care what it's about - whether it's about Minecraft, school, everyday life or makeup, you choose!
  5. You must tag at least two people.
  6. This one is optional, but if you want to, create a banner like I did above.
Okay, so here are my questions!

  • Do you ride a kangaroo to school?
  • Vegemite: Yay or nay?
  • Favourite authentic Aussie meal (and pavlova does not count, because we stole that from New Zealand!)
  • What do you think about Australian summers? Like or dislike?
  • Do you enjoy a good ol' Aussie barbeque? Or a you more of a pizza-and-coke girl?
  • And finally, what is your favourite part of being Australian?
I tag:

Have fun, girlies! And see you, dragicorns!

Why I'm Sick Of Slut Shaming

How many times have you heard about a rape on the news, or read a book about a girl lusting after a boy already in a relationship? With the rape, was it a schoolgirl walking home, or was it a drunk twenty year old who was on drugs? And I'm assuming you felt sorry for the schoolgirl, but were you sorry about the drunk teenager, who was kind of asking for it? Or in that book with that girl lusting after a boy who's already in a relationship, was the girlfriend accused of being a slut? A mindless bimbo that was only with the guy for the status? I bet you can count on one hand the amount of times that that HASN'T happened in that fictional world.

Here's the solid truth: It's slut shaming. And I'm sick of it. I'm sick of society blaming girls for getting themselves raped, and I'm sick of books going on about 'that mindless slag' that the boy's in a relationship with. No girl ever asks to be raped.  The schoolgirl walking home? She wasn't asking for it. The girl who was drunk in a bar? She wasn't asking for it. Maybe she just wanted to let her hair down and have a bit of fun. Maybe she had already been through trauma and is wanting to have the time of her life. When we go and say that that girl was a bit of a slut, we say nothing about the boy/s willing to destroy her life. Because the trauma from that rape will scar her for the rest of her life. She'll have good days, and then she'll have days wracked with grief. All because those boys couldn't show self control. They couldn't get their act together. And they failed to see that they need to ask for her consent first.

And that really annoying, bitchy girlfriend? She is not a slut. If the guy you're lusting after went out with her, doesn't that show how materialistic and sleazy he is as well? Or because he's worthy of your attention, he's actually a really great guy going out with a really great girl. So just leave her alone.

I don't think I've done the topic justice, but I hope you get the jist of what I'm on about. I'd love if you could leave your opinions below - The only way we're going to defeat this is to talk about this. Have a great day, and I hope you have loads of fun :-)

Lush Bath Bomb Review: Snowball

I think we all know that bloggers rave about Lush. Rosie, Hannah, Beth... I'm looking at you guys! Honestly, I cannot go on a blog anymore without a "Ohmigod, I love the Lush shower gel!" or an "You have to go try this bath bomb from Lush!". I considered it totally cool to be the only blogger ever who hasn't really heard of Lush. But as of yesterday, I am never looking back!

So here's the story: My family was in the city for Chinese new year (that reminds me, happy Chinese new year everyone!) and we were wandering down Swanston st. I remembered a while back that Hannah had told me that there was a Lush on that particular street, and since I was pretty bored, I decided to go check it out. The store itself was amazing; it smelt delicious and the set up design was so pretty and quirky. I loved the look of the honey bee bath bomb and the comforter shower gel, (and about everything else in the store) but I had just spent all my cash on an op shop spending spree. I was heartbroken! Unfortunately, my mum wasn't willing to buy me anything either. But she vaguely mentioned that my aunt had given her a box of Lush bath bombs last year, and they were still in the house somewhere.

Finally, after hours worth of searching, I found the box that she was talking about. There were three bath bombs in there - the snowball, which at some point I will get to reviewing, another one that smelt beautifully of jasmine and another that was very citrus y.  I decided to try the snowball, as I thought it had the best smell.

And I loved it! As soon as I started crumbling the bath bomb underneath the tap, the room filled with a delicious smell of cinnamon and some sort of dark, fruity smell; it smelt a bit like plum pudding to me. The water turned the most beautiful shade of mint, with little yellow flowers as well. I probably put too much in, but anyway. The bath was so moisturizing; it had kind of become syrupy like which was wonderful for my exhausted body. High school is a serious drain on my energy!

So thanks, guys, for raving about Lush! I am in love with the place, and cannot wait to go back there. See you soon!

First Day Of High School!!!

Hello, everyone! If you've been reading my blog for a while, you will know that I was soon going to be starting high school. Well, guess what? I have! And I'm LOVING it!!!!

I did have a lot of nerves before I started, though. The night before I only slept for about an hour, which didn't really help. The morning before I was nearly sick with nerves and was unable to eat anything. However I'm pretty sure that's a norm.

But when I got to school, it was like taking ice cream out of a freezer. All of my worries melted away as soon as I got into the school. Already I have so many new friends, and they are all lovely. I'm not really sure if I can call them my besties yet, but they are becoming closer with every minute that I spend with them.

We didn't really do much of anything on the first day; we got our locker combos, our lockers, our student handbooks and played quite a few games. Which was really nice, considering.

Soooooo, my advice for starting school for the first time? Don't try and be someone you're not - I know that you'll probably have heard this a thousand times, but it's the best advice I can give you. When you're being yourself, people can suss out who you are - and if they aren't liking who you are. they won't stick around. However, there might be people who you were destined to be friends with but you can't find them because you were acting like someone you're not and thought 'oh, no, I don't really want to be friends with her.' Honestly, just be yourself! It won't kill you.

How were your first days? Got any advice for starting year seven? Post it in the comments below!
